At last week's National Migration Conference, Maria Mazzenga gave a wonderful presentation on the history of the Church's work on behalf of migrants. Mazzenga, who is a fellow at Catholic University's Institute for Policy Research & Catholic Studies and the Education Archivist at CUA, shows that our Catholic Church is not only a Church of immigrants, but a Church for immigrants, and has been for a long, long time. Her talk has been turned into an essay and was published yesterday by Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good.
