Over at Vatican Insider, they have an interview with Cardinal Angelo Scola, the Archbishop of Milan. He touches on many issues of significance but it is the last sentence that caught my eye: "We allow ourselves to be subjected to the whims of the market as if it were a natural necessity and not a cultural thing." This is precisely the problem with the Catholic neo-con crowd, they view the laws of the market as a "natural necessity," something not to be made subject to rigorous ethical judgment still less governmental correction as needed. +Scola knows better.
