Each year, Time Magazine compiles a list of the 100 most influential people in the world, including artists, activists, reformers, heads of state and more. Last year, the Time 100 included Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, German chancellor Angela Merkel, Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, former Republican presidential nominee Michele Bachmann, pop sensation Justin Bieber and many others.
Time is in the process of compiling votes for its 2012 Time 100 list, and among the nominees is newly appointed Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York.
Other Time 100 nominees include singer Adele, conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh, Jamaican Olympian Usain Bolt and Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown law student who sparked outrage from Limbaugh for defending President Barack Obama's contraception mandate.
Voting closes Friday, and the 2012 Time 100 will be announced April 17.
