Dolan to pray at Democratic convention too--UPDATE

Grant Gallicho at the Commonweal blog has the breaking news: Cardinal Timothy Dolan will offer the closing prayer at the Democratic convention in addition to his prayer at the Republican convention Thursday.

Interesting. Will all those who blasted him for being partisan now apologize? Discuss.

UPDATE: RNS is reporting on its Facebook page that Sister Simone Campbell of "Nuns on the Bus" and NETWORK will address the Democratic Convention too.

There was no deliberate balancing act, the campaign told RNS.

"One was not done because of the other," a campaign official said Tuesday morning. "We are delighted to have both of them at the convention."
