Sr. Rose Pacatte, NCR’s own film critic, received an Award of Merit from the interreligious Religion Communicators Council for her appearance in hosting the Turner Classic Movies' series "Condemned" last March.
Pacatte has been a member of the Religion Communicators Council since 1995. This is her fourth time receiving an award; previous acknowledgments were for books on film and media literacy education in faith formation.
Pacatte's introductions explained the history of the Catholic Legion of Decency, how it worked and why certain films received a "C" rating between the years 1934 and 1965 when the Legion was replaced by the Office for Film and Broadcast (several ratings were later changed.)
