It took less than an hour and the very generous matching grant from NCR readers from Georgia, Dana Greene and Richard Roesel, was all claimed. Thank you Dana and Richard and all the people who sent their pledges in to make this possible. Your support is welcome and appreciated.
But the webathon continues. We still need more support and that support can only come from you readers. No donation is too small. We appreciate donations of $250 or $500 but we also appreciate the $10, $20 and $30 donations from readers. We are a frugal operation here at NCR. So you know that each and every dollar will be put to good use. It will be used to meet the needs you have for solid reporting on the Catholic church.
Reporting is what distinguishes NCR from other Catholic websites and media outlets. Other sites have lots of opinion and commentary. Fewer of them have the kind of original reporting that we do at NCR. As I have mentioned already: that kind of reporting takes money and that is why we need you to donate now.
Last year we raised $80,000 on the webathon. This year we want to beat that record. We can do it with you help.
Did you see this story we just posted to the website: For a year now, Austrian Catholics debate obedience written by Christa Pongratz-Lippitt? Pongratz-Lippitt is a veteran journalist with decades of experience Vienna, Austria. Those are the kinds of reporters and reports that NCR can provide, with your help.
You can make a one-time donation or a recurring donation to NCR either monthly, quarterly or yearly. The gift amount you designate will automatically be charged to your credit card as you indicate. Go to the "Donate to NCR" button, click on it, then simply fill in the box with the amount you want to donate, click on the drop-down box to specify the frequency of your gift, and complete the rest of the form as normal. This is a painless, simple means of providing NCR with the support it needs to continue reporting the news of the Church and the world.
